the envelope please

*disclaimer: my photo skills still lack, so it is impossible to see the texture and layers of this layout

the envelope please

try creating a layout with lots of envelopes. in this case I used a pre-printed set that came in a KOTM. however, it would only take a little more effort to create the envelopes from patterned paper or to embellish pre-made ones with stickers or rub-ons. the big white envelope has embossed dots all over it with a scalloped edge.

  • simply layer your envelopes so the the openings are still accessible.
  • cut the end off an envelope and use a circle punch to create a "notch"
  • a tiny slit through the bottom and top of an envelope is perfect for a simple ribbon closure.
  • fill the envelopes with journaling, "inside jokes", personal adice, or more pictures. in this case i will put some "out takes" in the large tabbed envelope, a personal note in one, and some of our guilty pleasures in the other.

it is hard to tell in the photo, but i also used foam tape to raise the pictures up off the layout.

Very cute - I especially like the sister theme. I may try something similar for my sister.

such beautiful girls... I love the envelopes, such a good way to include things that you don't want the casual reader to see.

I really like your take on the idea. I saw it on another blog as well. Looks great.

Those are some cool envelopes. Too bad it sold out this month before I got my hands on it. That's what I get for waiting and waiting. I guess I will have to try and hand make it as you suggested.
Love the layout and you got some wonderful "subjects" to work with.

Cute layout and very cute girls! :D

I really like seeing how you used the items from the kit. I didn't have the courage to buy it;I was afraid that I couldn't step outside the box to use it. It would have been good for me to stretch my vision! Thanks for the encouragement.

Great idea. I love the clean lines of this layout.

I really like this idea...has great possibilities. Your ideas are great!

I like this idea, but then again I like everything you come up with. lol
Hope you don't mind that I lift a lot from your blog.
